1/2 c water 1 T vanilla 1/3 c sour cream 1 egg 1 T butter, softened 3 c bread flour 3 T sugar 1 1/4 t salt 2 t bread machine or quick active dry yeast
Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer. Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Light crust color. Do not use delay cycle. Remove baked bread from pan and cool on wire rack.

Wanted to tell you I tried this recipe after having it in my bread folder since 2002....and it turned into a beautiful high loaf....friends I gave it to ...loved it...compared it to the Sally Lunn bread I have made in the past...makes wonderful toast..

I thougth it was really good too. It must be the sour cream that makes the difference . I'm not an expert but the sour cream must have something to do with making it rise up as high as it does. What do you think? Maybe you know someone that might know the answer.

Hi Marilyn...might be the Sour Cream that makes it turn into a high loaf..... I make a Cottage Cheese bread that cannot be made in the machine...gets too high. Have you tried that one?
