Hi To All Getting Ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday!
Within all of our homes and hearts, we all have those extra special recipes that mean the holidays to us. The following stuffing recipe came from my mother-in-law, and in her memory it will live on for many generations to come. My husband and I put together a special memory book in her honor for her siblings, including some of her recipes. Sadly, as we put it together we realized how much of her love of baking and cooking would forever be lost, because we had not asked for more of her special recipes. You always think there will be more time. Thankfully, we did get a few, and her stuffing was one that always brought us much pleasure. In your own family's, do ask now for those special memories from your parents, before it is too late. They will be so precious to have in the years to come... Always With My Best, Baking Bud
PS. Please take a moment to add a special family recipe of yours!
Bobbie's Cornbread Stuffing
Ingredients:
1 box Cinch Cornbread (mix and bake in a 9X13 pan and use water instead of milk!)
******************************
1 PKG. Mrs. Cubbison's cornbread stuffing
2 chopped onions
1 cup chopped celery
3 Tbsp. Sage
2-3 can chicken broth
Directions: Bake the cornbread according to its directions. When done and cooled, crumble it up and add the stuffing mix to it. Saute the onions and celery in a little butter. Add to the cornbread stuffing mixture. Add the sage and mix well. Then add the broth and gauge it to your desired moisture level. Cover with foil, and bake at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 hrs.
Number Of Servings: Makes a large pan! Bobbie always doubled her recipe to have leftovers for all of us!
