October 31, 2004 Halloween Day Ghost Sandwiches Holidays and festivals have been celebrated at the end of October for thousands of years. During the 8th century, the Christian church made November 1st, "All Saints' Day". And the night before was called "All Hallows Eve". Over the years, this name became Halloween. The custom of Halloween was brought to America in the 1800's by European immigrants
Ghost Sandwiches Make these in the morning. Take one slice of bread for each child (and make a few extras). Lightly toast and cool. Cut out each slice with a gingerman cookie cutter. Now spread with cream cheese, make 2 eyes with raisins and put one on each plate.
