CHOCOLATE SAUCE RECIPE
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips ¾ cup whipping cream 1 teaspoon vanilla
In a small saucepan over low heat, heat chocolate chips and whipping cream, stirring constantly. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and sauce is smooth. Stir in vanilla. Serve over dessert or ice cream. Makes about 1¼ cups.
BUTTERSCOTCH SAUCE
1 egg yolk, beaten 4 tablespoons butter ¼ cup water 2/3 cups brown sugar 1/3 cup corn syrup ¼ cup flour
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Cook in top of double boiler over hot water until thickened, stirring frequently. Serve hot or cold over cake, gingerbread, bread pudding, or ice cream.
