I have a few books and notepads I jot recipes into and chanced upon this 2 days ago when I was preparing to make our annual chutney and sauce. It automatically took my eye a few months back as my hubby and I are lovers of chutneys, relishes, pickles etc. Sounds easy peasy to me ....
Mince: 500g each of onions, cored cooking apples, sultanas and dates Stir in: 500g brown sugar, 1 tsp each of ginger, allspice, 1tbs salt, 1/2 tsp pepper Pour in: 600ml malt vinegar and leave for 24 hrs, stir occasionally Bottle: into heated jars and cover with vinegar proof lids Makes: 1.75kg (3lbs) Leave: for 2-3 before eating
