This section is for suggestions on how to cut and paste recipes from the newsletter into a word processor.

I am unable to copy recipes from the newsletter to my Microsoft Word Program. I always get a message that says "This program has performed an illegal operation" and word closes down. I don't have this problem copying from any other recipe site. Can anyone help me solve this problem. Thanks - Marge

Hi, Pebble9! I find it hard to believe no one has helped you w/an answer on this, as I'd want someone to! I'll try and help and just hope it works for you, as it does me. I use MS Word as well. I don't know what e-mail program you use, but I've done this in Yahoo, AOL as well as Outlook to find it works. To copy/paste INTO MS Word to save/print/whatever your favorite recipes, within the body of Nancy's newsletter (or any of your e-mails for that matter) point w/your mouse and LEFT click just prior to the first word you want to begin to "copy", and start "dragging" your mouse through the entirety of whatever you wish to "copy" and when at the end of your chosen text, release the LEFT click button of your mouse. You should see all of your chosen highlighted text you are going to "copy/paste". Then point to anywhere w/in the highlighted text and RIGHT click. You should see some choices pop up as in "undo, cut, copy, paste, delete, select all...". You can then chose "copy" by clicking with your LEFT mouse click button. Now open up your MS Word or MS Notepad or whatever program you wish to "paste" your text in. Once it is open, within the blank document/body RIGHT click and choose "paste". Wah-lah! (Or so it SHOULD work -- ha!) If not, let me know. Practice makes perfect. I know I was pretty wordy, but didn't know how well you knew computers, but hopefully I've helped at least a couple of folks! (If I've erred, I apologize ahead of time.) Happy Baking!

Hi pebble9 and Cohcotoffee,
Sorry if no one had answered before now. Thank you Cohcotoffee! But, the way to "cut and paste" is listed lower down on this section of the message board. Actually, not on this section, but on the one that says "Anything but recipes"! You did a great job describing "how to"! That is exactly how to cut and paste. You can also highlight the area you want to print and then go to print and then click on the area that says "selection", and then on OK. That will print only the part that you want to print!
Your friend on the "Board"!

Or you can press "control C" for copying "control V" for pasting "control P" you guessed it. for printing.

Hi Micheline,
Yes, you are right! However, you first have to highlight the portion you want to copy or print! Sounds like you use pc's, as I did, before those 'puter whiz's came up with the mouse!!!!! All we had were keystrokes! That was a trip!

Another tip to happy c & p (cut and paste) is to make sure your word processor is first open, then do the c & p. I used to get so excited finding something I'd been looking for I would copy it, then open the processor only to find the copied selection was not on the clipboard! (storage area of cut or copied selections) I'm using Word 2002 and that is just one of it's *quirks*. ;D
