Help! I added some cinnamon chips to a cake mix I was using to make mini cupcakes and they all fell to the bottom during baking. How can I prevent this? Are the chips too heavy for the small amount of batter? Would it help if I could somehow break them up? I tried using the mixer but that didn't help. Any suggestions?

Hi rcwidow, It would seem that the batter for your mini muffins was too thin to properly support the cinnamon chips. I thought you might like to click on the link below to read about why the chips fell and how you might be able to prevent it from happening when you try to make your mini muffins once again. www.baking911.com/howto_sinking_fruit.htmGood luck! -Shortcake

Shortcake, I replied to your message about freezing cakes before I saw your message here. Thank you so much for being so helpful! I'm wanting to make hundreds (probably) of these mini cupcakes for Christmas and the chips seemed like an easy way to vary the flavor. As soon as I get time I'm going to try again. Thanks for all your help,
