These are the ones my husband makes. Are they OK for the ribs and sauerkraut?

We made this recipe and served them with applesauce, ribs and sauerkraut. When the potato cakes started cooking it smelt really great and added something to the smell coming from the oven from the ribs, kraut and apples. Thanks.
