Egg Custard Pie Makes 2 pies Ingredients 6 large eggs, room temperature 3/4 cups sugar 3/4 teaspoon salt 4-1/2 cups scalded milk 1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla nutmeg, to taste 2 (9-inch) pie shells, unbaked and chilled Directions Prepare pie shells. Heat milk in top of double boiler. When scalded, add sugar, eggs and salt that have been mixed together. Stir well. Add vanilla. Pour into pie shells and sprinkle with nutmeg on top of each pie. Bake at 350 degrees about 40 minutes.
