Hi; I am new to the site. I need to lose 20 lbs and my husband needs to lose even more. I've NEVER dieted before in all my 44 years and have NO idea what it entails. I just ordered the Dr. Atkins NEW Diet Revolution and the Protein Power Book from Ebay.
I HATE to cook so this ought to be a very interesting scenario. The one thing I do see so far with Atkins that makes me happy is RED MEAT. I love meat and I love bacon. But there are so many other pitfalls...love pasta, soda pop, and coffee.
Would love any suggestions that anyone has to help us start out. And if there is anyone out there just starting the Atkins...would you consider being "buddies"?
First congrats on your decision to loose weight . I have a suggestion on Atkins....I was on it for 6 months last year because same as you I needed to loose weight and loved to eat the good food like bacon and steak. Just be careful....I began to have serious side effects from the diet...headaches (some severe), irregular monthly cycles, breakthrough bleeding, and my hair began to fall out. My aunt is currently and has been doing Atkins for over 1 year...she, however, decided to go through her physician so they could make sure she was okay. Her only side effects are headaches, which she controls with added carbs, and she has lost 40 lbs. I am currently on weight watchers and have learned to eat and cook healthy. Good luck
