I have about 49 pounds to lose now. As a women in her late forties and otherwise healthy I think its my time to lose that stubborn weight. I've noticed some surgical approaches and the non surgical drb diet on bariatricsweightloss.com but am confused as to which medical doctor I should follow! Has anyone had any success on either of these programs?

I do not know of a single person who has kept weight off for a long time with Bernsteins diet program. I lost 50 lbs 5 years ago and I did it by exercizing and cutting back a little on the food I was eating year one. After one year I lost 20lbs. Then the next year I increased my exercising somewhat and tried to improve my diet. I lost 15 lbs a year for the next two years. I probably ate between 1600-1800 calories a day. That is what I continue to do now and have maintained my weight loss. I could provide more detail if you want but thats what worked for me. I worked with a lot of people who were dieting at the same time I was. They got much quicker results than I did but they have regained their weight and I have not. In addition I did not pay someone a lot of money to lose the weight that I did.
