3 lbs. venison steaks 1 lg. onion, chopped 1 can mushroom soup 1 tsp. salt 1/2 pt. sour cream 3 tsp. paprika pepper to taste shortening 1/2 c. water
Cube meat to be cooked, cutting off fat and tendons. Melt 2 - 3 Tbs. shortening in large skillet. Brown meat and chopped onion. After thoroughly browning, add 1/2 c. water and simmer 30 minutes. Then add soup, paprika, salt pepper and simmer slowly for 1 hour. Add sour cream and continue simmering until tender.
