1 pound loaf 3/4 c plus 2 T buttermilk 1 T butter or margarine, cut up 2 c bread flour 1 T sugar 3/4 t salt 1/8 t baking soda 1 t bread machine yeast
1 1/2 pound loaf 1 c plus 2 T buttermilk 1 T butter or margarine, cut up 3 c bread flour 4 T sugar 1 1/4 t salt 1/8 t baking soda 1 1/2 t bread machine yeast
2 pound loaf 1 2/3 c buttermilk 2 T butter or margarine, cut up 4 c bread flour 2 T sugar 1 1/2 t salt 1/4 t baking soda 1 1/2 t bread machine yeast
Measure all ingredients into bread machine pan in the order suggested by manufacturer, adding baking soda with flour. Process on basic/white bread cycle; use medium/normal crust color setting. Do not use delayed-bake feature. Remove bread from pan; cool on wire rack.
Use the 1-pound recipe if your bread machine pan holds 10 cups or less of water. Use the 2-pound recipe if the pan holds 13 cups or more.
