2 sticks butter or marg. (divided) melted 1 (2 pound ) package southern style hash browns (I have used reg.) 1 can cream of mushroom soup 2 cups grated cheddar or american cheese 1/4 cup onion chopped 16 ounces sour cream 2 cups corn flakes, crushed
In a large bowl, mix all ingredients except 1 stick of melted butter and corn flakes. Pour mixture in a 9 by 12 casserole dish and set aside. Mix corn flakes and remaining butter or marg. and spread on top of potatoes. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Casserole can be frozen or refrigerated to bake the next day.
