I received the following recipe for Baked Spaghetti from my MIL. Unfortunately, she can't be reached right now to clarify the recipe. I am going to post it as she has written it, but I think there might be some confusion about the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce with jalapenos. I have never seen tomato sauce with jalapenos in it. I am thinking that the recipe should read 1-28 oz can tomato sauce and 1-15 oz tomatoes with jalapenos (Rotel) I am hoping someone out there has the same recipe and can clarify this for me. Thanks so much! Lori R.
Baked Spaghetti
1- 1/2 lbs lean hamburger 1 small onion, finely chopped 1/8 tsp garlic powder 1-28 oz can diced tomatoes 1-15 oz can tomato sauce with jalapenos 1 can cream of mushroom soup 2 TBSP sugar 1/2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp salt 1 tsp basil
0 oz spaghetti, broken, cooked and drained well 8 oz shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup grates parmesan cheese
Brown hamburger with onion and garlic powder and drain well. Add diced tomatoes, tomato sauce soup, sugar, oregano, salt and basil. Simmer for 30 minutes. Cook spaghetti and drain well.
Spray 9 x13 pan with Pam. Layer spaghetti meat sauce, then a layer of mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers and finish with grated parmesan on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
