Fudge Squares
I found this in the original 1963 Betty Crocker Cookie Book! Yes, I have had this since that time - high school! I just made them and they are very good! ;D
2 sq. unsweetened chocolate (2 oz.) 1/4 c. butter 1 c. sugar 2 eggs 1 1/4 c. Bisquick 1/2 c. chopped nuts (I used pecans)
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter together. Mix in sugar, eggs, Bisquick and nuts. Spread in greased square pan, 8x8x2 or 9x9x1 3/4. Bake 30 to 35 minutes. Do not overbake! Makes 16 squares. I baked mine for 30 minutes and our altitude is 4400 ft. above sea level. There are no additions or substitutions for high altitude. Very good!!!!!!!!!

That sounds great and easy, too. Do you remember a Bisquick recipe from the 60's for peanut butter cookies? It only took peanut butter, Bisquick, sugar, and hot water. I don't remember the quantities, or the baking instructions, and I can't find the recipe anywhere. I'm new here, just joined today. It looks wonderful. I love to bake and try new recipes, and I've recently started collecting cook books, too. Lots of fun. NancyC

Hello! I made these tonight with my own homemade bisquick mix and they were DELICIOUS! My daughter and husband just love them. I will making these often. Thank you so much for posting the recipe.
