UNCOOKED FRUIT CAKE
"My mother made this cake every year for the holiday season. Usually she had to make more than one as everyone loved them. She shaped them into rolls. An aunt packed hers in waxpaper lined boxes that had contained the waxpaper to make square cakes. Small thin slices are all you need as it is almost like candy.
box raisins l pkg currants 1pkg. figs 1 pkg dates 1/4 lb. citron 1/4 lb candies lemon peel 1/2 lb. shelled pecans 1/2 lb. shelled walnuts 1/2 lb shelled almonds 1/2 lb. candied cherries 1/4 lb. candied orange peel 1/2 lb candied pineapple
Blanch almonds. Grind everything except pecan halves. Mix together thoroughly. Pack in pan around Thanksgiving and keep in refrigerator until Christmas.
