Italian/Herbed Croutons Makes about 4 cups
Ingredients
4 ounces French bread (half 8-ounce loaf), cut into 1/2-inch cubes 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (store bought works fine) 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In 15-1/2x10-1/2 inch jelly-roll pan, toss bread cubes with oil, Italian herbs, salt, and pepper untilevenly coated. Toast bread in oven 10 minutes. Remove pan fromoven; toss bread with cheese. Bake croutons 5 to 7 minuteslonger, until lightly golden. Cool croutons completely in pan on wire rack.
