INDIAN FRY BREAD DINNER from www.amish-recipes.com Fry Bread 4 cups flour 6 teaspoons baking powder 2 teaspoons salt 1 tablespoon shortening Add enough water to make a stiff dough. With floured hands take a golf ball size piece of dough, pull in all directions until very thin. Be sure to make holes into dough. Deep fry until golden brown. (Oil should be 375°) Makes about 10 to 12 pieces. After it is fried, break into smaller pieces. Brown 3 lbs ground chuck. Add 2 cans ranch style pinto beans, 1 can Old El Paso refried beans, simmer and 1 envelope enchilada sauce mix. To serve, stack ingredients onto plate in this order: 1. Fry bread 2. Ground beef and beans 3. Shredded colby cheese 4. Chopped onions 5. Lettuce 6. Chopped tomatoes 7. Enchalada sauce 8. Hot sauce This is good served along with a congealed salad and ice cream for dessert.
