???Hi I am new, hope I am in the right area. We dutch get things mixed up @ times. I am looking for a PA Dutch Raise "Potato" Cake. I have a recipe, but I don't know if it is good! I would like ideas. Also, I don't want to just put crumbs I want to put rivels(what my family calles them) on top. They are a sugar, butter, flour mixture. If anyone can help me with this recipe & measurement I would appreciate it! Thank you!!!

The raised potato cakes to which you're refering are fasnachts that are traditionally made for Shrove Tuesday and are fried then served plain or dusted with powdered sugar - a molasses 'drizzle' is optional. In some recipes just the potato water is used, in others the potatoes are used as well. We Pennsylvania Dutch are very thrifty cooks you know!
As for the rivels? They would never have sugar in them. They're a thick mixture of egg, flour and a little salt to form a dough and are added to soups as they boil. They're added to boiling soups before serving by dropping small amounts (about 1/4 to 1/2 t.) from a teaspoon and are boiled until they float to show that they're fully cooked.
