Hi, I'm new! ;D *ahem*. A friend of mine is looking for this recipe. She claims it's Pennsylvania Dutch. She thinks they're called 'slapjacks'. All she can remember is that they are candy (not the grittle cakes), they have wintergreen and molasses in them, and she *thinks* they're a pulled candy. I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help. I'm sorry I could'nt give you more information, but, like I said, this inquiry is coming from my friend. On the off chance her shining example of a memory isn't quite up to parr, any Pennsylvania Dutch/Menonite/Amish candy recipes you can think of would be much appreciated. I've googled for it but all I can find are caramel recipes. Sincerely yours, the newbie.

Hi Jen46, Welcome to Nancy's Kitchen Recipe Message Board. I thought you might enjoy telling your friend about this page from Eleanor's journal. Scroll down a bit to find the directions for making Molasses Candy. www.pibburns.com/emrrecip.htmEnjoy! -Shortcake
