Hi April!, Speaking of Triscuits, I have a weird problem with them that I wonder if anyone else does too??? When I eat them, the rough surface of the cracker I guess makes the roof of my mouth HURT! I LOVE triscuits, but the pain from eating them is horrible. No one else in my family or friends say that eating them hurts the roof of their mouth. Am I the ONLY ONE this happens to? I always look at them in the store, and then walk on to my Ritz, (well, when I am not on Atkins!) I have to believe that there are others out there that this happens to also. And I'm not talking just minimal discomfort. Eating them HURTS! Would love to know that I am NOT the only one this happens to! Always With My Best, Baking Bud PS> Sent you a private email I guess to your hubby's account yesterday, since you said you are using his machine. So LOOK for it!

Hey April!, We both must be on right now! Did you get my note yesterday in your hubby's box? Hate to say that I am glad someone else has the same problem with those crackers, but I am glad to hear it too! I really couldn't believe that 'I' am the only one. And like you, I LOVE the taste of those crackers, but the pain that remains on the roof of my mouth from them is HORRIBLE! And I'm talking HOURS, not just while eating them. Atkin's is going OK. After having the two colds and the flu, no thought of diets took place for quite awhile. Basic survival was my only priority! The diet itself I think is the easiest to remember > no potatoes, rice, pastas, breads, most fruits, or white/sugar types of products. You know, the GOOD STUFF in life! Most meats, seafood, salads with regular dressings > but watch the sugar content & carbs, veggies > again LOOK at the carb/sugar count first so that eliminates carrots, corn, etc. It is only hard in the sense that not using bread means traditional types of sandwiches are out. So you get creative and use LARGE lettuce leaves to wrap up your sandwich contents, or I even stuff the things into bell peppers or celery. I have to have relish, so I buy dill relish> pour out the juice and refill it with some splenda to sweeten it. Works for me! Zucchini and I have become one, as I find myself not getting SICK TO DEATH of it. I love it nuked down in slices with some butter (yes, real butter), and some dill. And then I can dip it in REAL Ranch dressing, along with my steak or skinless chicken breast. Eating is very 'simple' so to speak, when on Atkins. But hey, even In and Out Hamburger places have gotten on board, and have what they call a Protein T version of their burgers. That is a hamburger patty with cheese, with tomatoes, and onions, all wrapped up in big lettuce leaves! Makes me happy!!! And I eat LOTS of chicken wings and drummettes, for my lunches. Yes, those are OK > but you just have to watch how they are made. Too many are in sauces HIGH in sugar! So, that is Atkins. My desserts are simple too, like sugar free jello with cream cheese and some minced celery in it. Talk about GOOD when you can't have regular types of sweets! Fats on this diet aren't your enemy. Carbs and sugar are! I am always on the look out for good low carb recipes, so if anyone has any please post them! Always With My Best, Baking Bud
