TEXTHI! ok, yesterday was thanksgiving, and i tried to make some pumpkin bread. When I got it out of the oven, and put a toothpick in it, it came out clean. So I thought it was done. But, when it cooled down, and i cut it, I could tell that it wasn't done because the bottom was kinda mushy and it felt just like pumpkin PIE instead of bread. What can I do from now on so that it comes out normal? thanks, Krystle

Hi ilovemyoven, Welcome to Nancy's Kitchen Recipe Message Board. The first thing that came to my mind was the tooth pick test probably should have been done with a cake tester or a strand of uncooked spaghetti to get closer to the bottom of the loaf when testing. Also, the loaf should have been placed in the pan on a wire rack to cool for ten minutes and then removed from the pan to finish cooling on the rack. The only other thing I can suggest is to look at a few recipes to compare how you made your bread. Here are a few recipes: www.christmas-baking.com/pumpkin_bread.htmlwww.ottawavalleynews.info/pumpkin.htmwww.perfectentertaining.com/halloween/hr7.htmI hope this is helpful. -Shortcake
