6 egg whites 1/4 tsp. salt 1-1/2 cups sugar 1 tsp. cream of tartar 1 tsp. vanilla
Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Gradually add sugar and beat until stiff. Slowly mix in vanilla and salt. Preheat oven to 400° Spread in buttered 9x13-inch pan. Place pan in oven and turn off the heat. Leave meringue in oven overnight.
8 oz. cream cheese 1 tsp. vanilla 1 pt. whipping cream or substitute 2 cups miniature marshmallows 1 cup powdered sugar
Mix cream cheese, vanilla and sugar together. Add to whipped cream and fold in marshmallows. Spread mixture onto shell. Top dessert with pie filling and refrigerate.
