Our recipe doesn't call for onion, but it's easy enough to add. Grandma Jane's Cheese Ball 2 (8 oz.) pkg. Philadelphia Cream Cheese 1-1/2 Tbsp. Hidden Vallen Ranch Dressing 2 pkg. dried beef or dried ham* 1-1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese Dill weed to taste Mix cream cheese and ranch dressing with mixer. Chop dried beef or dried ham (to keep it from being stringy) and add to cream cheese/ranch dressing mixture. Mix well. Add cheddar cheese. Put into bowl and shape into a ball. Sprinkle dill weed on outside of ball. Wrap in plastic wrap. Chill. [*The dried beef/dried ham in a package in the lunch meat section of the super market is less expensive than the ones in the jar found in the canned meat aisle. And it works just as well!] Enjoy!
