French Onion Soup
from Creative Cooking with Campbell's Soup circa 1977
1 can - 10 1/2 oz. condensed onion soup 1 soup can water 3 thin slices French bread, toasted 3/4 c. grated Gruyere or Swiss cheese
In saucepan, combine soup and water: heat. In individual serving bowls, place a slice of French bread; top with cheese. Pour in hot soup. Makes about 2 1/2 cups.
Broiler Method: Pour heated soup into individual oven-proof serving bowls. Place bread on top' sprinkle with cheese. Broil until cheese melts.
