SUKIYAKI (Microwave) 1 1/2 to 2 lb. beef sirloin steak, cut into thin strips 1/2 c. soy sauce 1/2 c. water 3 Tbsp. sugar 1 (4 oz.) can mushroom stems and pieces, drained 1/2 c. green onion, sliced 1 (5 oz.) can water chestnuts, drained and sliced 1 (5 oz.) can bamboo shoots, drained 1 (16 oz.) can bean sprouts, drained
Combine steak, soy sauce, water and sugar in 2-quart (12 x 7-inch) glass baking dish. Cover with plastic wrap. Mari- nate for 3 to 4 hours at room temperature. Place remaining ingredients in rows across meat and sauce with mushrooms in center row; re-cover. Microwave on High for 10 to 12 minutes. Let stand, covered, for 2 minutes before serving. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
