August 31, 2004 Eat Outside Day Picnic TV Dinners The calendar tells us the first day of fall is still weeks away. But, many people consider the last day of August the end of summer. It's a good time to plan one more cookout, picnic or just to eat out on the back step. Maybe a time to think about all the holidays that will be here before we know it!
PICNIC TV DINNERS 6 hamburger patties 6 potatoes, sliced 6 celery sticks, chopped 6 carrots, chopped your choice of seasonings (optional)
1. On a large sheet of tin foil, place one hamburger pattie. Pile 1/6 of each of the vegetables on top of the meat. Fold up the tin foil and seal it around all the edges. Repeat for the rest of the hamburger patties.
2. Place the 6 foil packets on your grill and cook until the meat is well done. OR place the foil packets on a cookie sheet and bake at 425 degrees F for 1 hour.
3. This is a great dish to eat outside. Each person gets their own foil packet to open and eat. Any seasoning you like should go on the meat before you pile on the vegetables. I sprinkle on a little dried onion soup - that's my favorite.
