Am looking for a recipe for boiled beef or pork sandwiches. They are usually served on a bun and sometimes with lettuce in the bun. I would give a lot for the recipe used at the Ritz Fairground Restuarant or the old Hinkle's in Allentown, Pennsylvania. There was also a tavern that served them near Mt. Holly, NJ in the 60's. Thanks! Athena

I'm not sure what the Beef sandwiches you remember tasted like but one recipe my family loves is this:
Beef Sandwiches 1 5-6 pound chuck roast 2-3 Large chopped onions 1 cup water
In the crockpot , I add the ingredients listed above. Cook 6-8 hours on low setting. When I get home in the evening, I turn the setting to high, add 4 dissolved beef bouillien cubes and cut the meat into bite size pieces with kitchen shears or a knife, removing the fat. I add a jar of chili sauce and cook on high for 1 hour. My kids, sometimes, like it with cream cheese instead of the chili sauce...I serve it on big cracked wheat buns with mayonaise, mustard and sweet relish. Hope that is what you were looking for..hugs, kaytee
