Sausage Stuffing Balls
Such a handy way to serve stuffing
1 tsp butter 1/2 lb lean pork sausage meat 2/3 cup chopped onion 1/2 cup chopped celery 1 large egg 3/4 tsp poultry seasoning 1 tsp parsley flakes 1 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper sprinkle of salt sprinkle of pepper 1 cup water 1 1/2 cups croutons 5 tsp butter
Melt first amount of butter in frypan. Add sausage meat, onion and celery. Saute until no pink remains in meat. Drain well. Beat egg in bowl. Add next 6 ingredients. Beat and add to onion mixture. Stir. Add water, stir until mixture boils. Remove from heat. Stir in croutons. Let stand 5 minutes. Shape into balls, using a 1/2 cup measure. Arrange in greased pan. Top each ball with 1 tsp butter. Bake in 325*F oven for 30 minutes. Makes 5 stuffing balls.
