SNOW ICE CREAM Sent by: Loral (After getting about 18" of snow, I added this recipe at the last minute. A tasty way to get rid of some snow!!) 2-3 fresh eggs ½ cup sugar (or more, to taste) 1 cup milk or light cream 2 teaspoons vanilla Pinch of salt
Place the above ingredients in a large bowl. Mix with an egg beater and this will make an uncooked custard. Now, scoop up a pan of new fallen snow and mix the snow into the custard. You need to eat this right away!
This will make about 1 quart of snow ice cream.
**Please note: This is an old recipe and snow was a lot cleaner back when I was a kid. Some people recommend not to use uncooked eggs. If you feel funny about using uncooked eggs, use your favorite cooked custard recipe, but don't wait till the custard is set. As a treat once or twice a year shouldn't hurt you. My mom made this for us, and I'm still alive.....
