Puffed Wheat Balls
12 cups puffed wheat cereal 2 cups packed brown sugar 1 cup corn syrup 2 TBS butter 1 cup evaporated milk 1/3 cup sugar
Place cereal in a large bowl. In a heavy saucepan, bring brown sugar and corn syrup to a boil. Add butter. combine evaporated milk and sugar; add to boiling mixture and continue cooking until a soft ball forms when liquid is dropped into cold water. (240*F on a candy thermometer) Pour over cereal and stir to coat. Shape into 2 inch balls. Makes 2 1/2 to 3 dozen.
