Skillet Spaghetti
1-pound ground beef
1-large onion, chopped (1 cup)
3/4-cup chopped green bell pepper
1/2-cup water
2-tsp salt
1-tsp sugar
1-tsp chili powder
1-can (28 ounces) whole tomatoes, undrained
1-package (7 ounces) spaghetti, broken into pieces
1-can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
1-cup shredded Cheddar cheese (4 ounces)
Cook beef and onion in 12-inch skillet or Dutch oven until beef is brown; drain. Stir in remaining ingredients except cheese, breaking up tomatoes. Heat to boiling; reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until spaghetti is tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Cover and heat until cheese is melted. 6 servings.
