Picnic Pasta Salad Recipe By :Created by General Mills Serving Size : 12 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Salads/Dressings Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 package rotini pasta - (16 oz) 1 can tomato sauce - (8 oz) 1 cup Italian dressing 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil leaves (or 1 tspn dried basil) 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried oregano) 1 cup sliced mushrooms - (3 oz) 5 roma (plum) tomatoes -- coarsely chopped 1 large cucumber -- coarsely chopped 1 medium red onion -- chopped 1 can sliced ripe olives - (2 1/4 oz) -- drained Cook and drain pasta as directed on package. Rinse with cold water; drain. Mix tomato sauce, dressing, basil and oregano in large bowl. Add pasta and remaining ingredients; toss. Cover and refrigerate about 2 hours until chilled but no longer than 48 hours. This recipe yields 12 servings.

Made this for a family get together. Everyone enjoyed it. I used and oil and vinegar based Italian dressing but am wondering how it would taste with creamy Italian. Next time I will double the veggies (personal taste). Thanks for sharing a great recipe!
