Cracker Jacks 20 cups popcorn 1 cup molasses 1 tsp. vinegar 1 cup sugar 1 cup peanuts 2 Tbsp. water 1 Tbsp butter 1 tsp. mixed spices (mace, ginger, cinnamon & nutmeg) 1/4 tsp. baking soda Cook to hard ball stage 265 degrees. Stir to keep from scorching. Add butter and mixed spice. Add baking soda. Stir lightly and while still foaming, pour over a mixture of 20 cups popcorn and 1 cup peanuts. Pour in flat buttered pan. When cool, crumble into small pieces.
