Mock Pate
1 12oz. Package of Braunschweiger 2 8oz. packages of Cream Cheese 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice 2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce 1 Medium sized onion, finely chopped Instructions:
I reccomend softening the Crean Cheese in the microwave befroe starting, it makes the mixing easier.
Simply put ingredients in a bowl and mix. This can be a real wrist breaker to mix, so don't be shy about breaking out the electric mixer!
Season to taste with black pepper and or garlic. For a zestier spread, try apping some prepared horseraddish to the mix!
Serve at room temperature with Ritz crackes or garlic toast. Enjoy =)
Serving Suggestions: The Mock Pate can make a wonderful centerpiece to your Hors D'oeuvre table. Put the pate into the fridge for a bit to firm it up, then form into dome and sprinkle with parsley, or cover in sliced almonds. Surround pate with crackers or garlic toast.
Also makes a good appetizer to be passed during thingytail hour - simply spread on garlic toast rounds or sturdy cracker and pass on nicely garnished tray. Additional note - I have used low fat Braunschweiger and cream cheese with this and it turned out great. (the crackers have more fat than the spread then!) But I have not tried with the fat free cream cheese. If anyone does, please let me know how it turns out!
