Hi Jay, Most recipes are forgiving when it comes to the amount of nuts called for. The amount can often be halved, or omitted altogether if they are not crucial to the outcome of the recipe. When I do add nuts, I measure the amount of nuts called for after chopping.
Take care, Shortcake

Hi carnation037, Your post gave me a chuckle. I am sure I used to do the same thing before I found the handy little nut chopper with the glass storage container. ;D Now I just load the top and grind whatever fits in there without jamming the blades. Too few, add more nuts to be chopped, too many, store them in the refrigerator in the nut chopper. So much easier. Thanks for the memories. Take care, Shortcake

Hey, I love to laugh!! So glad I gave you a chuckle too. My family eats very little of any nuts so when I do add it, it is either powdered or so finely minced you could miss it. lol. Food processor or blender works great and I don't keep chopped nuts laying around. Like I said, we hardly ever eat nuts around here. lol. I even have one of those handy choppers here too. I was not happy with the way it works. Now the handy Express Gourmet, or a coffee grinder, or then there is always the old blender or food processor. lol. See, now I am rambling.
