For those of you who cook venison and want to eliminate a lot of the wild taste, try this: simmer your meat in plain water for about 10 minutes allowing the foam to accumulate on the top. Then, drain the meat entirely and rinse the meat in hot water. (You might want to repeat this if the meat is very strong.) Clean the pan well, return the meat and add all the necessary ingredients to make your chosen recipe. You'll be surprised how much milder the meat will taste. Carla

you can soak it in butter milk for a while or overnight to get rid of t he wild taste. - Sue from Ga

You can soak it in a mixture of 1/3 milk and 2/3 water overnight and then cook as you would beef.

Good suggestions! I've not had much trouble with the wild taste before, but just received some venison yesterday from someone I never got meat from before. I'll try these suggestions to be on the safe side! Thanks!
