Tomcat was wanting someone to recommend a book for newlyweds. I would recommend the Fix-It and Forget-It Crockpot Cookbook. I am not a newlywed (married 15 yrs), but would have welcomed a book like this. I did receive a crockpot as a wedding gift. I still use the same one and a new one several times a month.
