This is for Cliff who wanted a recipe for gingersnaps: preheat oven to 375 Cream 3/4 cup shortening, 1 cup brown sugar,1/4 cup molasses, and 1 egg till fluffy. Sift together 2 1/4 cups sifted all-purpose flour. 2 teaspoons baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon ground cinnaamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves: stir into molasses mixture. Form into small balls. Roll in granulated sugar: place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake in moderate oven (375) 12 minutes. Makes about 5 dozen.

GINGER PEAR CRUMBLE
1 c. gingersnaps into crumbs, 1 c. = 26 snaps 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 tsp. salt (opt.) 3-4 pared pears, cut in half or 2-1/2 c. drained pears 1 tbsp. lemon juice to sprinkle over
Bake 25 to 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Serve warm.

BAKED BEANS
2 cans Bush's baked beans (28 oz.) 1 tsp. dry mustard 1/2 c. catsup (or 1/4 c. chili sauce and 1/4 cup catsup) 1/2 c. crushed gingersnaps 1/2 c. brown sugar 5 or 6 strips of bacon 4 tbsp. onion, chopped
Saute bacon with onion. Combine remaining ingredients. Place in crockpot and cook for a few hours.

BAKED BEANS
4 slices bacon 2 (1 lb.) cans pork & beans 1/4 c. dark corn syrup 1/4 c. ketchup 2 tbsp. chopped onion 3/4 c. finely crushed gingersnaps
Cut bacon in small pieces. Place in a 1-1/2 quart glass casserole. Microwave on high for 4 minutes. Stir halfway through microwave time. Stir in remaining ingredients. Microwave on high for 10 minutes. Stir every 4 minutes. Gingersnaps add lots of flavor. Serves 6.

APPLE BAKE
3 lb. Mac. apples 10 gingersnaps (2" diameter) 1 tsp. cinnamon 2 pkg. Equal 1/2 c. water 2 tsp. lemon juice
Peel and core apples. Slice and place 1/2 in baking dish. Crush gingersnaps with cinnamon and equal. Sprinkle 1/2 on apples. Cover with remaining apples, sprinkle remaining crumbs. Mix water and lemon juice. Pour over apples and bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
