Nancy re grey/gluey mashed potatoes? What are you using to mash them with? sounds like a food processor or BLENDER problem. to make them REALLy good, they HAVE to be smashed by hand first.. and then .. with a cake mixer.. to fluff them up and incorporate air without activating the starch .. which is what makes them gluey. a bit of milk or bouillion and a smidgen of butter.. ur set. hope this helps.
