Debbie, I sent you a message on the prayer board. I too had kidney cancer and have been a three time survivor of it. Feeling great and back to normal every time. Thankfully it does not require chemo or radiation. Hope you are feeling great also. Dee in West Lafayette, Indiana

Thank you Debbie, what a great site! I'm animal mom to 9 dogs (4 girls, 5 boys, ages: almost one year to 16 years) three pet pigs, and two roosters. Quiet times are few around here. Lots of love and lots of laughter, I am fortunate they think I'm just the greatest. I think it is because I make dog cookies and homemade food, we get outside even when it's a brisk 30' (this is Southern California) and we spend hours in their favorite place, my garden. A hoof, and a woof, and a thingy-a-doodle doo, you are in our prayers. May your recovery be speedy with no reoccurance; may you be surrounded by those you love. Next time I'll give you some dog stories. Sabrina in CA

Here's something to think about, I have been going back and forth with the Ins-co for the last two mo's and A word of advise Don't!!!!!! play there game get right down to busness with them don't let them drag it on. Get ugly with them. Are they will keep it going as long as they can. So now that I have gotten real ugly with them. It's getting done and being settle for me. Because when you are sick and trying to recover, fighting with Ins-co's Is not what you need to be doing. Just a little word advise.
Take Care Debbie

Bless you Debbie!! Being a cancer survivor too I (had it 2x!) I know about the ups and downs. Fortunately they got mine with surgery only! My own personaly opinion is that the foods we eat these days have too many "additives"! But I won't get on that particular "soap box"!
I have a geneology questin for anyone - I've gone back on my Mom's father's side to the Revolutionary War and got stuck. Can't find the ancestor who fought in that war and/or where he came from! Not even his actual name.Just have his son's name. Any ideas??

Gramhome: You would have to do what they call a backtrack. Using the son's name. Go to rootsweb.com and entering his name or go to familysearch.org. And if you want you could give me the name and I would do a track. And you could look under the rootsweb under Revolutionary war pensions under the last name. Its a long and tedies job and can drive you a little carzy at times. But I have found alot of stories about my family. Hope this helps a little.

Hi Debbie. Hope you are doing well today. I am hosting the annual family reunion this year, and would like to do some family trees. Any tips on how to get it started, or perhaps an easy way to gather info from the ones who are present? As far as I know, no one has ever attempted to do a family tree. There will be 3 major family's present to do the trees. Our numbers are getting fewer and fewer as we all get older. Thanks for your help in advance. Have a great day! ;D

Deeinsil, What you could do is asked everyone to write a memory about something in the family, stories are important. And get name's of Pts , grandpts and if they remember where they lived with this information you can go to rootsweb.com, familysearch, org. but you really need to get everyone talking. and write it all now.
I wish I would have done that with my grandpts. But I was lucky enough to fine a web site that other family members had started. If you have name's of greatgrandpts it might lead you to a family site that someone my have started that you do not know about ,by going on rootsweb and entering there name, if its been posted it will tell you who by and give you and e-mail address.

well I hope everyone had a good mothers day, I had a nice one and got some nice things from the kids, I have a planter outside and I have flowers and have put little frogs and butterflies and ladybugs in it too. Well my daughter and her family got me a big frog that sings and sticks his tongue out, my pets go nuts over this frog. Subastion the cat will sit and try to catch the tongue. It is so funny to watch and the dogs just sit and look at it. I think they are trying to figure out if its another pet. Hope everyone is doing ok . T. C . Debbie

Hi Debbie, how you doing? We are expecting a heatwave in June - don't know what your temps are like - ours aren't too cold, but dull and boring. At least it allows gardening without glowing armpits. The only thing is I could swear you can watch the grass grow. I have a lot of raised beds, which have polythene to stop weeds, but I haven't got a sign that the birds can read *No Deposits Here*.

Have you managed back to work yet?

Hi Debbie,
It seems a long time since we "chatted". I've placed a post about our cat Charly on the pets board and I got to thinking about you and yours. I wonder if Sebastian (sp??) has ever got hold of the frog's tongue? Strange thing to think about, but I have just got a frog planter from one of the folk in our nearby village.
We haven't seen any toads this year yet.
How are you?

Hi Debbie, great to hear from you at last!!
We are in the grip of another Icy blast. We all feel as tho' this winter will never end. Not surprised you have got a cold.
My two sons, Chris aged 39 in July and my younger lad Nicholas who will be 32 in June have, for some ungodly reason, decided to both get married in 2010 to their long term fiances. Chris and Angela's engagement party was last night - not quite our idea of a fun night, but I did enjoy the heavy metal band breaks. hmmm. My hearing will hopefully get back to normal.
Great to hear from you and delighted to hear that Nancy is able to "look" after you!
Keep well.

So just waiting for warm weather. Hope you get through the weddings . Tell them I wish them many blessing.

Sounds to me that you are starting to get on top of your health problems - hopefully. I was a smoker for many years and always dreaded the C word, never realised all the other things that them blasted tobacco sticks would cause in later life. Such is life. The f*gs were tossed in July 2007. Scotand has far outdone the bans in place in California. No smoking anywhere. The powers that be are coming down sooo hard on the poor old smokers. So all in all it's just as well that I kicked the habit.
Re the weddings, I am fortunate that I am the mother of the Grooms and not the other way around. Just have to sit back, listen, watch and keep my mouth firmly shut. Something I'm trying to impress on my 95 year old mum, without much success. LOL.
Try to keep in touch and let us know how you are??

Afternoon Debbie,
It's 10 minutes past two here and it is really nice afternoon. I've been out doing a bit of pruning and was deighted to see my Japanese Maple is in new bud. Loads of Daffs and everything is poking through looking for some warmth. Hopefully this isn't just the lull before the storm. Oh I feel so much livelier when the sun shines. I was obviously born into the wrong country.
I hope you are continuing to feel reasonably good. Shame about the Texas winds - but we do get our fair share here. I can handle most of the elements that get thrown at us - but excessive winds, I just don't like.
Remember to keep us informed on how you are??
Regards Sylvia

Hi Debbie,
Hope you enjoyed your day with your grandsons. Fortunately my two are 13 and 11 and less of a handful these days. I'm getting a little long in the tooth for looking after kids. If my younger son and his bride to be have children, there type of lifestyle predicts that I won't see too much of any future grandchildren. London is a 6 hour train journey from Edinburgh.
Weather here has been really nice, but tough times and snow are predicted as from tomorrow i.e. Tuesday. The garden will just have to go back to sleep for a while.
Keep well.

Hi Debbie,
I'm doing away. We were trying to clean up the garden - the volcano ash had left a film on everthing. Lo-and-behold we are now being trashed by arctic winds. Thank goodness the old man had the forethought to tie in all my clematis, they are full of buds and if mother nature lays off them a bit, we should have a wonderful display.
Sorry to hear that your feet and hands are numbing up, unfortunately that is my problem as well. I fortunately haven't had all your health problems. Meanwhile I am becoming neurotic with all the warnings - make sure you get no injuries to your feet. When you drop a knife accidentally, you can always guarantee that it will land blade down. Also keep your feet above the level of your heart - humph, what on earth can one do in this position. Read, period.
I sound a bit of a moaning minnie, but it sometimes does you good to have a good old moan to friends.
Regards and best wishes
Sylvia

Yes, our weather continues to fluctuate. I've been out once without a warm coat this year. Plants are more resilient than we give them credit for, wish the same could be said for us. Tee hee.
Can't you get a sitting down job whilst your feet are like this? Although our NHS is free and everyone thinks wow - wonderful, your health system, is much faster than our. I've got a 5-6 weeks wait for an MRI. Lots of people jump the queues by paying privately - extortionate. I've always disagreed with this practice, but I may have to head down that route too. Let me know how you get on on the 20th.
Best wishes and take care Sylvia

Hi Debbie,
We've got another sunny day, the "forecaster" said rain, och well what do they know?
Had hoped to hear from you?? What's the update from the Consultant?
I had the MRI, just waiting for news. I've got this Sapphire Wedding Anniversary on Saturday and not too sure whether I want to go or not. Suppose I'll have to, got a cake baked, but here's to how it will taste.
Email me and let me know how you are.
