I thought this Chart was quite clear but it has been brought to my attention that it wasn't clear to everyone. Hope this makes it clear.
Crockpot conversion chart.---FROM OVEN OR STOVE TOP COOKING TO CROCKPOT LONGER COOKING TIMES
If original recipe calls for 1/4 to1/2 hour ---- Baking or stove top cooking cook on low for 4 to 8 hours ( CROCKPOT OR SLOW COOKER Cook on high1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours COOKING TIMES )
If original recipe calls for 1/2 to1 hour---- Baking or stove top cooking cook on low for 6 to 8 hours ( CROCKPOT OR SLOW COOKER Cook on high 3 to 4 hours COOKING TIMES )
If original recipe calls for 1 to 3 hours----BAKING OR STOVETOP COOKING cook on low for 8 to 16 hours ( CROCKPOT OR SLOW COOKER Cook on high for 4 to 6 hours COOKING TIMES )
Low is 180 to 200 degrees High is around 300 degrees
The cooking times sure aren't very specific , but only a guide line given by the Culinary Arts Institute.
