I have purchased a new kitchen machine which has interchangeable plates for making toasties mmm, waffles and just plain old grilling. The only waffles I have ever had were from the freezer cabinet in our wee shoppe. I have noticed there are a few recipes on this board - but I would really like an up-to-date one. If you have a TNT one would you share it please?
Forgot to say I much preferred my old toastie machine - binned it when the lads grew up!
I want to encourage youngsters (male or female) to get into the kitchen and enjoy cooking. TASTE it!
Sift dry ingredients together. Stir in milk gradually. Stir in egg yolks and butter. Gently fold in egg whites. Heat waffle maker. Cook waffles following manufacturer's directions, 4 to 5 minutes each or till light goes out. Mine usually take about 6 - 8 minutes. You want them kind of crispy.
My ex's grandmother gave me this recipe way back in the 60's. They are so good! Will have to have them next Sun. for brunch. I don't fix them too often.
Made your waffles this morning, WOW we really enjoyed them, served with grilled smoked bacon. First home made waffles ever, didn't know what we were missing. Taste nothing like the rubbishy frozen ones I used to serve my lads years ago.
PS Forgot to say they took my machine a full 8 minutes.
