These are lovely, tasty biscuits and are so easy to make.
Cinnamon Oaties Preheat the oven to 200oC/400oF
7 oz/200g margarine 3 1/2oz/100g caster sugar 8 oz/225g sifted plain flour 1 1/2tsp bicarbonate soda 1 tsp ground cinnamon 8 oz/225g porridge oats 3 1/2 oz/100g sultanas 1 Tbsp golden syrup
Cream the margarine and sugar until fluffy. Mix in flour, bicarbonate of soda, ground cinnamon, porridge oats and sultanas. Add the golden syrup and enough water to make a stiff dough. Knead the dough lightly and divide into 24 balls. Place on two greased baking trays, press down a little to flatten slightly. Bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool.
Dip half of each biscuit in melted chocolate, if desired.
This recipe was adapted from a lucky star winner in my local Sommerfield magazine.

Hi Cookinnn,
A warm welcome to Nancy's Message Boards! It would be a good idea to read the rules of the boards, just a bit further down. If you go to Nancy's Patio Kitchen, you will find most of the new members start off there, it's also a good place to post any queries.
The Cinnamon Oaties are tasty and real easy to make.
Look forward to trying some of your recipes.

I was in the mood for making some of these Oaties today, but couldn't be bothered doing the rolling out and cutting thing, SO, I pressed them in to a my new silicone square tin, scored into portions and baked.
I haven't decorated yet, but my plan is just to drizzle some chocolate icing haphazardly over them before dividing them up.
Whatever makes life a bit easier and they taste the same.

I am a brand new member and was thrilled to find your forum. My ancestors came from Campbeltown, Argyllshire, Scotland so I am very interested in everything Scottish. I'm planning a trip to Scotland next year. I want to make these Cinnamon Oaties but I do not know what sultanas is.........or is it called another name here in the US. Thank you for your help.

Hello and I will add my welcome to Sylvia's!
Sultanas are also raisins. They are sometimes called that here in the states, too, as well as in Europe.

After reading this recipe I discovered that it is not at all difficult to make these biscuits at home for my kids.
