Our grand-daughter Katy will by 13 on Sunday. I'm baking her cake and giving her some jewellery for her Xmas jewellery box. Boring, but in years to come she will appreciate it.
Angela and Chris have arranged for a pink limo to pick her and 9 of her friends up and will be driven around East Lothian. The party will then take place at a local hall.
Strange how things have changed - I think I got books at that age.
Times they are-a-changing.

Hello Sylvia, Our only grandson is just 2 years and has become enthralled with super heroes (he has informed his parents that he is known as "Super James"), but we do have 3 teenage boys plus an 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter. I think the jewellery for her Xmas jewellery box is very appropriate for someone who is just entering young adulthood, and a pink limo for her and 9 of her friends, Wow! I don't think that would have ever enter my mind at that age. I'm sure she will enjoy it very much. And by the way I received books too at that age and a vinal record of Ethel Waters, a rhythm and blues singer whos autobiography impressed me deeply. I was a verocious reader and so are my children. So guess what they get as part of their gifts for birthdays and Xmas? On the aside, I have a request. I have enjoyed the links on rampantscotland.com but would like to know if there are any links for online newspapers from your area. I know very little about Scotland but would enjoy learning and following the events and news that is going on there. Would you be able to steer me toward some web sites for newspapers and such? I would greatly appreciate this. Thanks again for all that you share. I do enjoy reading your posts. bshem_yshua

Hi Bshem Yshua Nice hearing from you again. This is my opening news page, not too sure if it will open for you, but give it a try: news.google.co.uk/nwshp?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&hl=en-GB You may have to type it in manually. I do send a link each morning to a couple of my Scottish friends living in America. I would need your email address to do that, you could send me a personal through the message boards. Hold off until I check other sites though. Sylvia PS are you on Facebook? I have since gone into my news page and you should be able to open it without typing it in manually. The Food Lovers site link was posted before, but there has been a few changes to it. Great site, great recipes and if you want to improve your European Geography there is a cheese map that is great. I have used the map with Katy and her dad now has it on his computer: www.foodloversbritain.com/One more for you to try: www.scotsman.com/template/Frontpage.aspx

Hello Sylvia,
Thank you for these links they all work for me, and I have saved them to my favorites. I am not on facebook as I am not much for blogging, online chatting, etc. I enjoy cooking very much so these message boards with the laid back chatting, if you will, is just about my speed. I have also found a great community and much blessing from following(and praying for) the prayer request that are shared on the message board. Thanks again for your help.
