Ham and cheese stuffed inside this great brunch entree to serve to weekend guests or just something special for the family.
8 (1/2 in) slices French bread 8 (3/4 oz each) slices American cheese, cut in Half 4 oz sliced deli ham 3 eggs, beaten 1/3 cup milk 3 tbsp. butter powdered sugar syrup
Cut 3 inch slit in side of each slice of bread almost to bottom of slice to form a pocket. Place 2 half slices of cheese inside each pocket. Place 1/2 oz ham between the cheese. combine eggs and milk in medium bowl. beat well/ Pour in pie pan. Dip both sides of stuffed bread in egg mixture, Melt butter in 12 in skillet over medium -high heat until sizzling; place bread slices in skillet. Cook, turning once until bread is tosted browned(4-6 minutes) sprinkle toast with powder sugar; serve with syrup. Makes 8 servings.
