BUTTERMILK ROLLS Makes about 12 rolls 1 cup buttermilk 2 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. shortening 2 tbsp. butter 1-1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 pkg. yeast 1/4 cup warm water enough flour for a stiff dough Heat first four ingredients, then add salt and baking soda. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to first mixture. Stir in enough flour to make a stiff dough. Knead well, place in greased bowl, let rise until double. Make rolls and let rise again. Bake at 375 degrees.
