Buttermilk Biscuits ;D 4 cups self-rising flour 1 tablespoon sugar 1 tablespoon baking powder 2 cups buttermilk 2/3 cup shortening
Mix together, but do not knead. Roll out to 1" thick. Cut and brush tops with additional buttermilk. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.

I HAVE TAUGHT MY GRANDDAUGHTER TO MAKE BISCUITS....WHEN SHE WAS 8 MONTHS OLD, I SAT HER ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER - SHE PLAYED IN THE FLOUR, SHORTENING AND THE DOUGH AFTER IT WAS MADE; SHE EVEN ATE SOME OF THE RAW BISCUIT DOUGH. SHE IS NOW 12 YEARS OLD AND CAN MAKE DELICIOUS BISCUITS. I BOUGHT HER A BISCUIT BOWL TO MAKE HER BISCUIT DOUGH IN; AN ANTIQUE BISCUIT CUTTER. I HAVE MY MOTHER'S BISCUIT CUTTER WHICH WILL BELONG TO AMBER ONE DAY.
