Cajun Spice Seasoning Mix in a Jar
Ingredients 3/4 cup salt 1/4 cup ground cayenne pepper 2 tablespoons ground white pepper 2 tablespoons ground black pepper 2 tablespoons paprika 2 tablespoons onion powder 2 tablespoons garlic powder
Directions 1 While holding a pint canning jar at an angle, add ingredients to create a "sand art" look. T he salt and cayenne may be divided into smaller portions and used to separate other spices. I found it simplest to use 7 cups--one with each spice in it--and add them to my jar with a spoon, as I want to create the special look. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Hi, New member here--I'm Stargazer and this is my first time posting. I had a question about this mix. It looks delicious, but how do you use it? What proportion mix to liquid, and what liquid would you use--just water? Thanks! from april « Thread started on: Mar 3rd, 2003, 3:29pm » <br>..... To make as a soup base: Combine 1/3 cup mix and 1 1/2 cups water. Bring to a boil while stirring often. Add a vegetable for more flavor, such as diced celery (for cream of celery soup), diced potatoes (for cream of potato soup), sliced mushrooms (for cream of mushroom soup), or some diced broccoli (for cream of broccoli soup).
